One of the most important objects built in the city to the 1000th jubilee is the new Cultural and Education Center named after the first woman-cosmonaut V.V. Tereshkova.
The center has become the new place of interest in Yaroslavl. It serves as a cultural and education complex for promotion of astronomy, an educational center and a place for interesting family leisure. The center has a planetarium, an educational observatory, a Space Exploration Museum, an entertainment complex TransForce (interactive class, media-café, 5D attraction Space Shuttle). The planetarium includes a unique 96-seat star hall with digital optical projecting equipment, the dome with area 300 sq. meters and diameter 12 meters able to show more than 7,5 thousand stars.
