The house of the First Guild merchant V.Kuznetsov is located in the historical center of Yaroslavl, in the most picturesque place on the Volga Embankment. It is an outstanding example of the Russian provincial architecture of the end of the 19th century, build in popular at that time eclecticism style. The house is cozy and attracts attention. It is one of the few Yaroslavl merchant houses that still preserve the unique authentic interior: enfilade layout of rooms, wide flights of stairs, living rooms and state halls. The house is decorated with the stucco molding with lions outside and floral and foliage ornaments, Apollo’s lyre on the ceilings of the state halls. Here one can feel history everywhere. The municipal Museum of the History of Yaroslavl is located in the house since 1998. The museum cherishes the memory of the city’s history and the Kuznetsovs’ family, whose representatives established the first steam confectionery plant, which had been working for more than a century.
